About Me

Hello and welcome!  I’m Megan, the “She” 1/ 2 of No Small Life.Megan Rea-NoSmallLife

I’m a creative with 8 million passions and a heart to leave each person I encounter feeling valued and inspired in every facet of their life.  Wanna know more?  Read on curious one.

I married my awesome hubby right out of college and five minutes later we started doing ministry together.

Chris & Megan Rea #DateNigt

That’s us. I know what you’re thinking and yes, I DO have phenomenal taste in men.

We’ve been working with teenagers ever since we were barely out of our teens and have loved every minute. We’re high-school sweethearts who are still “sappy in love,” passionate about living for God, and love to minister to the needs of people. You will often find us drinking good coffee and never find us camping. 🙂 We are a very down to earth couple who have gone through our share of extreme joys and incredible heartaches.   But, through it all we’ve learned so much and become the people we are today.

I am “one of those creative types” and I serve on the arts team at our church.  In my off hours I’m a wannabe stylist, writer, designer, health food/food allergy expert (by default…having food allergies will do that to you haha) and avid fitness kind of girl.

In 2006 we decided to expand our rockin’ little family from the 3 of us. Chris, me and …

Gunther

… Gunther the Wonder Dog.  My best buddy.

What we assumed would be a simple journey lead us down a path we never would’ve expected.  The next 3-½ years are affectionately referred to in our house as “The Dark Ages.” Long story very short: 9 Dr.’s, specialists, chiropractors, 2 alternative Dr.’s, a diagnosis of 3 food allergies, and a partridge and a pear tree later…we have happily embraced our family of 3.

We’ve decided to leave the expanding of our family completely in God’s sovereign hands.  He is so faithful and taught and transformed us in that season in ways that we never would’ve imagined.  I’ve learned the invaluable lesson that difficult circumstances can either leave you bitter or better; and if you choose to press into God and continuously choose to trust Him with your future, He’ll change your heart and your desires.

The Story behind "No Small Life"

So I write this to you today from the corner of the cutest coffee shop, totally content.  Yes, there are days where my humanity still pokes it ugly head through, but those days don’t define me anymore.  And because God has healed and restored my hope in ways I didn’t even think were possible, I’m now so passionate about injecting hope into your everyday life.

When life gets dark, for whatever reason, we stop celebrating the little things and enjoying the beauty of this life. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to leave one moment of this life “unlived.” (Sometimes I make up words, you’ll learn to love it.)  My life looks a lot different than I envisioned, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything and that’s my hope and prayer for all of you!  So keep reading and let’s do this whole “Life” thing together!

My husband and I have been going through some pretty rough times that leaves me hopeless at times but I’m so thankful to know that I’m not alone! God is so faithful to heal us in His timing & He is so good even when circumstances aren’t. I love how you said that those things can leave you bitter or better. Love that! Thanks for sharing a little of your loving & hopeFULL heart! 🙂

Looking back on a blog page that I saved over Christmas and I wanted to tell you how much I truly enjoyed reading this posting. We have a friend who’s daughter is going through the same difficult time but I don’t think has the blessed perspective you have. It’s so important to rely on God and his precious timing for whatever happens in our lives. I really love your positive thinking and may it be an inspiration to all!

    • Laurie, this touched my heart so much, thank you! Breaks my heart for your friends daughter, I know that road so well. It can be a difficult journey to arrive at that place of hope and healing. God certainly is writing unique stories for all of our lives. I know that if she allows the Lord to map her future, She’ll come to that place of freedom and trust; arriving at the exact place He designed her to be regardless of what her future holds. Praying for her. Thanks again Laurie! 💛
