Christmas Home Tour- C’mon In!

Christmas Home Tour

It’s no secret around here that we believe in celebrating life. We believe in celebrating no matter what season you may find yourself in. And this time of year especially, we are all about celebrating the Ultimate life. A life given for us in the form of love’s greatest gift. A baby. A baby that grew and gave himself so selflessly for all of us. A baby who would give us opportunity to call Him both Savior and Friend. Without Him, I’m nothing, but with Him, He says we can do anything. Yep, that’s the kind of amazing God we serve and we get to celebrate His birthday.

And today we thought we’d celebrate with all of you! #win So grab some hot cocoa, maybe throw a candy cane it in, (I found allergy-free ones this year! #happydance) and hang out in our home for a while as we Celebrate Christmas! C’mon in:

We changed things up a little this year. If you remember from this post, my hubs and I got super ambitious, threw out our entertainment center with reckless abandon and have been g-r-a-d-u-a-l-l-y re-doing our Living Room ever since. So new stockings, a new “tree skirt,” and boxing up ornaments that no longer “play nice” with some of the new decor were in order.

Here’s how it turned out:

A little simpler, a little more modern and something that most importantly, feels great when you’re all curled up with a cup of coffee in the morning.

Candles are Pottery Barn Clearance gifted from a great friend.

Love spreading a little Peace, Joy and Hope around this time of year.

The stockings hung by the chimney with care are a new purchase this year. Target. Where all good things come from. Like…

My “tree skirt!” It’s a faux fur blanket that recently got a new lease on life.  He’s now a multi-tasker, moon-lighter and 2 job juggler.  You can make just about anything into a tree skirt.  My mom recently used a Pashmina! #genius The key is you just need to bulk it up a bit to give it some fullness.  I like to tuck crumbled newspaper under mine.  I know it’s not very fancy, but you could use the Wall Street Journal if you’re feeling the need to be more “Uptown.” 😉

I’m also a fan of being creative with how you top your tree. Traditional toppers are fine, but there’s something very playful about throwing a bunch of sparkly branches in there and seeing how it all comes together 🙂

And by “throwing” I mean tweaking into submission for way too long of course.

Love these “icy” branches I got a few seasons ago from At Home.  The tree on the right is from there as well.  The tree on the left is this season from Jo-ann’s.

You may recognize the pillow from this post.  My sister bought it for me for Christmas! I know, she IS the best. Also, I squealed when I opened it like a tiny girl.

I like it so much I kind of want it to live there year round. I mean, who doesn’t want things to be calm and bright all the time?

Even lamps aren’t safe around here when it’s Christmas time. #GarlandIsTheNewBlack

Vases normally holding branches get all dolled up with ting ting. And look especially dapper when hanging out in front of this picture that I made here.

Last but not least, my little side table got some love with ornaments hung on branches and my nativity snow globe.

Well, thanks for stopping by!  To peak at some simple ways I decked the rest of our halls, click here.

Merry Christmas, celebrate it to the full this year!

Until next time,

  2. Love your home. I think I’d squeal too if my sister bought me that amazing pillow.

  3. Love, love your idea for a tree topper! I’m filing that away for next year’s tree. Your room (and decorations) are the perfect combination of modern and cozy. I hope you and your family had a very happy Christmas!

You have the cutest ideas!! I think I need to hire you to help me redecorate my condo 😊

  5. I like how clean and elegant it looks. A lot of times Christmas decorations can make my home feel way more cluttered and messy but yours looks beautiful. Also, I like the idea for your tree skirt. I honestly never thought of using anything except a tree skirt as a tree skirt. but it looks great.

  6. What a lovely glittery Christmas! Gorgeous! Those fur stockings are so cozy looking, wish they were on my feet.

  7. Your home is so welcoming and festive! Love all the silver, gold and those fur stockings!
